December 14, 2013: Neat as a Pin

Note: This is the second prompt we did for the day, which turned out to be the last day I met them for 2013 because I had to leave town the next couple of weeks. Darn it. Here's to a joyful 2014 though!

PROMPT IDEA:

- Neat as a pin

The Fateful Day

I  looked at myself in the mirror. Chic looking hat, smart blouse and a matching jacket, and a knee length skirt that matched. My stocking were flawless, and my shoes were appropriate. Behold, I told myself, the precious bride to be. My ensemble were of light grey and soft pink, accentuate the paleness of my skin. I am, as they say, neat as a pen. And it should be like that. In the next week i will be marrying the love of my life in the same church I will go today, the same church i have been to my whole life. This is the moment of truth, the last time i will be there as a maiden. How fun it would be. I took off my hat and placed it on my head again, carefully angled it differently and admiring myself on the mirror. How grand my life is!

The women went pale in shock, and the man was holding her hand so tight as they both witness the apparition. The Church Lady Ghost was the most famous if all in the great haunted mansion of Wenstrom, but seeing her apparition still gave them the shock. The story was she was going to church with her fiancee when the bomb fell, but she didn't know she was dead and keep appearing for years. Her innocent expression brought tears to the living woman's eyes, and she feels sad for the ghosts, for her loneliness and her being stranded in this world. For the first time the ghost feel someone else's sympathy, and she turned her face to see the living woman. As she saw the living woman's tears, she realized what had happen. Her expression turned into agony and fear and finally a solemn acceptance. She smiled to the living woman, and with a blinding light she was gone. The Church Lady Ghost was no more.

Writer's note: Most of the member stick with the Christmas theme and used the prompt idea accordingly, and several finished their previous prompt while incorporating the new prompt idea. I kind of flub and make an entire non-Christmas related story. But I'm still pretty happy with the result :)
