This was the second writing I made for the prompts. I only got about 10 minutes left, so understandably this wasn't a very good one. Nevertheless, I was proud of myself for managing to write this piece till the very end :)
PROMPT IDEAS:
- I never thought it was in my best interest to have goals
- I am not young enough to know everything
- Democrat
The Elephant in the Room
There’s an elephant in the room, some people say. The huge elephant that people don’t want to mention about. In US politics, there usually a donkey in the room too. But this donkey is more easily to talk about than the elephant.
I started to observe US politics in 2008, but it wasn't until 2012 that I pay close attention to GOP vs Democrat. It was fun, till it gets nasty that is. Then it just get baffling. From the article and comments, it seemed that the democrat is either the new carefree human loving group, or the thoughtless hippie that is both irresponsible and reckless. In fairness, it might be both.
There will always be 2 side of the coin, or 2 distinctively different group: good cop and bad cop, the haters and the lovers, the young and old, the new world vs the conservatives. These feuding parties are what we needed to make progress. As noble as it seemed, one goal for all and such wouldn't go as far and as quick if you have two parties or more fighting for it. The human’s instinct for survival requires challenges to move forward, to hone our skills and sharpen ourselves.
GOP and Democrat is just another way to label the new world vs conservatives, whichever that is. It is, if you look at it, a way to keep USA moving forward. There will be times when the situation be turned aside, and people would be ashamed to called themselves democrat. But remember, that is just a name.

Writer's note: There was a commotion when the Democrat prompt idea was randomly chosen. I myself am not a US citizen and technically have no say of whatsoever in US politics, but like I said: To some degree it was fun to watch and observe the moves and tact.
